2017 – 2019
Willard Carter is an extremely talented young cellist from a single-parent family. He has progressed his talent in music by being awarded scholarships at the Purcell School and the Royal College of Music.
Willard first contacted the foundation to apply for funding to attend a week-long masterclass, as his family circumstances meant he was not able to afford the trip on his own.
This sponsorship allowed him to attend the masterclass with German cellist and teacher, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, which was a great success.
Following this, Willard then required further funding to attend auditions and some one-to-one classes with Mr Schmidt. After the auditions Willard was offered a place at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar.
