2016 – 2018
Nayamba School was established on Nagwaza Farm in the rural Chisamba district of Zambia by the farm owners. It was established to educate the children of the families working on all the surrounding farms, because there was no school in the area – in some cases children had been walking for up to two hours each way to reach their nearest school.
The John Casson Foundation has worked with the school and not only sponsored two teachers’ salaries each year, but raised money to purchase six laptop computers so that the students could learn IT on real computers instead of on the blackboard.
Through regular private donations to the foundation intended specifically for Nayamba School, they have also been fortunate enough to have support to purchase some maths resources for the younger students.
